beautiful dark skin, perfect hips, tiny waist, a good pair of perky
tits, eyes that are absolutely beautiful, adorable, and innocent,

hypnotic it would make you go wild and submit to her, and a brain
that is so sharp that it makes Mike Frimpong’s four-point zero
grade point average at Yale seem less achievable.
One
visit to her book launch leaves the playboy’s heart pumping and
manhood twitching, not just from thinking of claiming her, but also
making her the perfect woman to carry his child. Oops… she’s off
limits and could cost him everything.
Is
the playboy bold enough to chase her, risking everything he’s
worked for in the process, or is he willing to let the one woman who
stops his heartbeat for the first time walk out of his life?
“Mike,
you are a good man. You make me laugh and you are absolutely great in
bed. The rumors were all true. It felt heavenly and I wish I could do
it with you again, but I can’t.” Lily gives me the one speech I
never thought I would hear in my lifetime. Wait. What did I hear
just now? Is she dumping me before it even gets started? Is Lily
trying to be the player here? Did she just use me for sex and wants
to get rid of me right after? I can’t believe this is happening to
me, Michael Abeiku Frimpong. I turn around and snigger bitterly at
this bizarre moment. This is a joke. I am a joke. Lily Annah played
me. I straighten my tie and glare at Lily. “I
like you and wish I could be with you but I can’t. I have too many
things to think about and do right now. I can’t complicate my life
with a relationship. You were perfect but I am not ready for a
relationship,” Lily concludes, looking at me with apologetic eyes. I snicker again trying to
make sense of this whole situation. She knew she didn’t want me
even before she slept with me. “Is
that what you meant when you said I should treat you as if that was
the last time I will have sex with you?” I quote, but don’t wait
for an answer. I chuckle, covering my mouth. This is crazy. “I have
never felt this used before, Lily,” I mumble, rubbing my hands on
my head in disbelief. Lily’s mouth opens and her eyes grow sad.
“You do know how much I like you, right?” I mention, staring at
her. She doesn’t move. She doesn’t say anything. She just stares
at me like she’s deaf. “I
like you a lot. For the first time in my life I want to date someone
who doesn’t want me. We were so happy together and to think it was
real... You knew you would let me go even before we went on the date
but you agreed anyway. I guess I shouldn’t complain, right? I am
Mike Frimpong, the breaker of hearts. It’s karma, I guess.” I
grumble, stomping to the door in anger. But I turn around to Lily and
walk back to her, pointing my finger angrily at her. Her eyes are apologetic
and sad but it makes me madder even more because I don’t want her
pity. I want her. I need her. “We
were happy. We had a good thing going. You had me,” I poke my chest
with my fingers punctuating my words. “The first date we had, you
laughed like you haven’t in a long time. Four days ago, we went to
the movies as a happy couple and came here to have the best sex of my
goddamn life,” I yell with frustration, feeling the pain of her
betrayal worsen. “I
was happy for once, looking forward to being with you again. You were
happy. You can’t look into my eyes and tell me you weren’t happy.
I remember the look on your face when you told me good morning. You
like me too. You want me too. You need me as much as I need you. We
need each other. I know it. I feel it, and you feel it too.” I get
closer to her and lift her face to meet mine. Lily trembles from my
touch and slowly opens her eyes to meet my desperate, angered eyes
waiting for her. “We
are destined to be together, Lily. You know it,” I murmur, gazing
at Lily. “Tell yourself all you want but I know how much we crave
each other. So if you want to throw this connection we have away,
then go ahead and do it but I had to remind you of us, of what could
be.” Still Lily doesn’t speak. I let go of her and take steps
back. “I want you to look into my eyes and tell me you don’t want
me as much as I want you,” I raise my voice again and glare at
Lily, waiting for her to look at me and stop staring at the goddamn
gray tile on the floor. “It
is because of my past?” I scream at Lily in a desperate urge to let
her see reason. Hearing myself out loud sounds so ridiculous I am
beginning to hate myself. Hate myself for screaming at Lily. I am
Mike Frimpong. A woman doesn’t make me desperate. “I
don’t care about your life before you met me, Mike. I just can’t
be with you. Please understand.” Lily croaks with tears in the
corner of her eyes. I chuckle bitterly and point my finger at her
with anger and shake my head as I slowly fold my fingers back in
place and rush out of the door before I make her cry even more. I
have already done enough.
