Logan, the eldest of the MacBride clan, is thrilled at his brother Clay's pending nuptials to Sandy. But when Sandy's sister RJ arrives at the family's ranch, Logan's world is turned upside down.

However, the sisters' shared past has created scars and barriers against love testing Logan's ability to push aside his need and patience to win RJ's trust and ultimately her unwavering love.

Snippet:

Sandy came around the vehicle and caught sight of Logan also. “Oh.” Looking a little shamefaced, she greeted him. “Morning, Logan.”

Logan stood up straight and tried to control his grin. “Sandy. RJ. Looks like you were at it again, Sandy.”

RJ was ready to come to Sandy’s defense, but Sandy just grinned at him. “You know I can’t help myself.”

Logan just shook his head. Then he grinned at RJ. “Are you the maniac that taught her to drive?”

Stiffening at his comment she was about to blast him with a few choice words when Sandy laid a hand on her arm. “He’s just joking. Drives him and Clay nuts when I drive the UV.”

Logan watched as Sandy tried to calm her sister’s temper down. The woman was as prickly as a porcupine. She might be a looker, but he liked his women with a sweeter temperament.

RJ tried to smile. The man was always studying and judging her. It was obvious he found her lacking in some way. She wanted to tell him to go to hell, but for Sandy’s sake she would try. “Yes, I taught her to drive and it seems she got us here just fine.”

“I’ll give you that,” he acknowledged before turning back to Sandy. “But I see why Clay won’t let you out on the range.”

Sandy laughed. “Seriously, you guys are so thickheaded. Come on, RJ, I want to show you the shop.”

Logan caught the subtle look Sandy sent him. Assuming it meant she still wanted him to give her a tour and try to talk her into staying he sighed. “Sandy, I know you want to show RJ around the shop. But once the shop opens, I was thinking I could give RJ a tour of the ranch.”

RJ narrowed her eyes at the offer. But when Sandy acted surprised and gushed that RJ should go and have a good time, she realized they planned this. Doing an internal eye roll, she decided to let Sandy have her way and agreed.
